Streets: Sensemurs Project (Valencia, Spain)

Recently in the La Punta area just outside of Valencia, Spain, a group of street artists got together to help the local population protest the actions of the port authority and the local government have taken since 2001. Because of their focus on urban development, locales were forced to move into social housing only 100’s of meters from their old homes and gardens. You can read more about their plight on here & here. “Different environmental and social NGOs joining forces to preserve the culture, […]

Streets: Sam3 (Barcelona)

Spanish artist Sam3 recently visited Barcelona where he created a new beautiful mural titled Park. Rendered with his familiar technique of using only black color and painting silhouettes, this public piece feels both very light and strong, fitting perfectly to the environment it is placed in. The piece shows four trees whose treetops form heads which communicated with each other with birds flying from one tree to the other. With a closer look, one notices that the leaves of the treetops are actually little birds […]

Streets: Sam3 (Spain)

Sam3 has been busy recently along the Mediterranean coastline of Spain in Costa Blanca working on some murals featuring his signature shadow figures. Along with the stunning piece with political commentary that refers to expulsion of the Moors in the Ricote Valley in the sixteenth century, painted on a rock face (seen above), there was also the silhouette of a man in a boat with pretty sweet placement taking advantage of the natural elements of the wall (seen below).
