Streets: World Roundup (Jan 16 – Jan 22)

Leading off this week’s summary of wall offerings from around the world is this piece from the duo from Brooklyn – Faile. We’ll be posting up an interesting interview from the two soon, but for now take a look at other notable murals from artists Ludo (Italy) – who has a show at Wunderkammern that opened last night, Sam3 (Spain), John Fekner (Atlanta), 36Recyclab (France), Isaac Cordal (Spain), Kid Acne (UK), MAR & MADSTEEZ (Los Angeles), DAL x Faith47 (New York), Alexandrine Deshayes (France), Triángulo [...]

Streets: World Roundup Oct 31- Nov 6

This week’s roundup starts with the always entertaining David Choe (featured). He claims to have recently found the abandoned vacation home of the infamous Pablo Escobar in Columbia. What ensues is of course some NSFW shenanigans that for those interested you can see here. Other walls that caught out attention include Dran (France), Miss Bugs (London), ROA (Australia), Stinkfish (Guatemala), Sam3 (Portugal), Aryz (Spain), INSA (London), and Mobstr. Streets: World Roundup Oct 17 – 23

It’s time for another roundup of the new walls this week here on AM. Although not exactly immediately recent, this mural from Mesa in particular caught our eye. Other murals covered after the jump include C215 (Paris), Escif (France), Sam3 (Germany), Dabs Myla x Remi/Rough (London), Fintan Magee (Melbourne), Teo Doro (Valparaíso), Dimitris Taxis (Spain), and Isaac Cordal (Brussels).

Streets: World Roundup Oct 10 – 16

Because the scope of coverage here on AM of street murals & graffiti is steadily expanding, we will be doing a weekly roundup of new work (or work that has not been featured in their own individual articles yet) from around the world. Some of these would have been previously mentioned in our weekly Overtime articles, but since this particular sort of news is so image-based, we will be isolating them out into a separate series for your enjoyment. For our first installment, we focus [...]

FAME Festival ’11: Sam3

In our continuing coverage of this year’s FAME Festival, we now bring you the work of Sam3. Last seen in Poland and Madrid with his more traditional, nature-inspired murals, the Spanish street artist tried something completely different in the streets of Grottaglie. In perhaps a deliberate – or not – riff on VOINA’s infamous Dick Captured by KGB street action, the abstracted lines of spray paint assemble together like a jigsaw puzzle when viewed from an upstairs bathroom window, where the sizable piece is realized [...]

Streets: Sam3 (Poland)

When we last updated you on Spanish street artist Sam3, he had just completed a set of three sweet murals in Madrid. We now have images of another great piece (his newest) also featuring his signature shadow technique, this time in Poznań, Poland, painted for the Outer Spaces Festival. Entitled Power to the People, this newest wall is dedicated to the Spanish Revolution and the current May 15th movement. More pics after the jump…

Streets: Happy Valentine’s Day

Those looking for a little love on Valentine’s Day need look no further than the streets. We’ve gathered some images from the last year from C215, Ellis G., Sam3, Escif and Faile that may spark some romance for you. Although some of the pieces may not be exactly what you are looking for. Photos after the jump…

Streets: Sam3 (Madrid)

After visiting the Fame Festival, we came away with a even greater respect for Sam3′s deceptively simple shadow work, especially after seeing a pretty awesome piece in the gallery show. It looks like the Spanish artist has been busy as he also recently completed a complex set of three murals in Madrid. Take a closer look at the triptych after the jump…

Openings / Streets: FAME Festival 2010

For the last two years, there’s only one place even the most half-hearted of street art fan should be in September and that’s the picturesque town of Grottaglie, in the foot of Italy, and this year is no exception as the town again provides the canvas for curator Angelo Milano’s FAME Festival. As with previous years, Angelo has invited a stylistically and geographically diverse selection of renowned and, at least for now, less recognized artists to decorate the walls of his hometown as they see [...]

BLK River Festival ‘ 10: Sam3

After sharing Know Hope’s amazing mural with you from the Vienna street art festival, we now bring you an eclectic collection of Sam3′s contributions. The Spanish silhouette master painted many of his increasingly complex pieces all over town as this year’s BLK River Festival is now in full effect. More images after the jump…
