Releases: KAWS x Robert Lazzarini – “Distorted Companions”

Wow, what a stunning collaboration between Robert Lazzarini, well known for his distorted sculptures, and KAWS in what we like to call the “Distorted Companions”. Lazzarini, who you may remember recently exhibited his twisted brass knuckles alongside KAWS’ work at the It Ain’t Fair exhibition (covered) by OHWOW during Art Basel Week, is a fellow Brookylnite and seems to be a natural partner for the re-engineering of the iconic figure on its 10th anniversary. Early word (which may or may not be accurate) on these […]

Releases: Mark Ryden “YHWH” Black & White Vinyl Figure Set

With the release of his regal Snow Yak Print Portfolio (covered) barely in the rear view mirror, Mark Ryden has revealed details for his next release – a set of vinyl toy figures. Over a year ago, the artist unveiled his first vinyl toy, YHWH (covered), in collaboration with Necessaries Toy Foundation. As a follow up to the original Pink figure, a Black and White version will now be released together as a limited-edition set (only 100), elegantly distributed in a gold-embossed box along with […]

Dr. Romanelli x Oliver Peoples: “Dr. Goodfellow” Sculpture

Check this figure designed by our friend Dr. Romanelli and optics retailer Oliver Peoples. Inspired by a mythical sprite known to many as “Puck”, the figure blends a mix of the vintage Victorian style with Dr. Romanelli’s fresh eye to revamp this collaboration into a modern classic. The details on the figure are pretty well thought out as we spy the miniature stethoscope, scissors, and of course the obligatory chained monocle. It comes in a very limited edition of ten – six bronze that ages into into a […]

Previews: NYCC – Myth Warrior & Sharky @ Toy Qube Booth #2874

Our friends over at Toy Qube sent us a few images of the figures that will be released at this weekend’s New York Comicon. First is the long awaited release of the hand painted Dragon Warrior from the Mythic Warriors line. Created by Keith Poon, the 10-inch resin figurine is a mix of the classic Terracotta Warrrior & the mythical legends of Asian lore. It comes housed in a custom wood box. It’s an edition of 50 and only 25 will be available at the booth. […]

Today Munky King will be releasing a new variant of Luke Chueh’s (interviewed) “Black in White” figure (first seen at Comic-Con). Along with the figure, there will be original paintings and an exclusive print release as well. The signing will from 4-7 pm with a release party running from 7-10pm, but get there early if you want one of these babies, as the line will be long. […]

Releases: KAWS – “Pinocchio & Jiminy Cricket” Figures

When we first confirmed the imminent release of KAWS’ Pinocchio & Jiminy Cricket figures back in June, we didn’t have any details yet as to the price or date of release. If you remember, these were first seen at the fantastic retrospective the Dos Sequis drinking artist put on at the Aldrich Contemporary in Connecticut. Well, now word is these will be released at the OriginalFake store in Tokyo on August 28th for approximately $200 with other associated retailers getting their shipment a couple weeks […]

Teaser: Kaws – “Wood Companion”

We’ve heard rumors of a wooden Companion figure from KAWS for a while now but haven’t seen any images… until now – from the recent Dos Sequis video! In these studio shots, the figure appears to be approximately 10 inches tall, but no word yet on general release details. We guess that KAWS fanatics, who have already been waiting for the Pinocchio & Jiminy Cricket figures to drop, will be adding this to their want list although this is sure to be limited and expensive. […]

SDCC was your opportunity to nab exclusive pieces, like the Ghost Seeker and a rare colorway of Mr. Spray.
