Update: Banksy bombs New York

The Internet is abuzz with speculation that the Banksy mural that recently appeared in New York’s Soho is in fact a notice of an upcoming NYC show, perhaps at Deitch. Vicious rumor? Fact or fiction? Only time will tell. AM will keep you informed.

Supreme x Christopher Wool skate deck

The world famous Supreme is at it again. Their latest “artist skate deck”Â isÂ withÂ contemporary artistÂ ChistopherÂ Wool. Each skatedeck is designed as a work of art. (Wonder if you’ll pop higher ollies on one?) New York based Supreme isÂ known for theirÂ exclusive collaborations with world class artists such asÂ Takashi Murakami, JeffÂ Koons, Richard Prince, andÂ Marilyn Minter to produce very limited edition skate decks. This Saturday, Aurel Schmidt opens her second solo show Maneater at Soho’s Deitch Projects. For those not familiar with the work of this exciting emerging artist, Schmidt’s intricate and detailed drawings combine small elements such as bugs and cigarettes into beautiful and grotesque compositions. When AM attended the Lazarides show in New York, one of the hot rumors floating around wasÂ that Banksy was in town bombingÂ New York. Looks as though the highly anticipated “Kaws Trooper” has dropped in Japan at the Original-Fake store. Had the opportunity to check out the “Beyond Baby Tattooville” exhibit at the Riverside Art Museum a couple weeks back. Strangely enough, opening night is on Oct 4th to coincide with the weekend of Baby Tattooville, but the work was put up for public viewing on Sept 4th.
