Last night marked the opening of Yoshitomo Nara’s solo show at Blum & Poe (previewed and teased). The show features a large scale sculptural installation, and a new series of paintings and drawings focusing on Nara’s signature pastel-hued girls.
At the center of the exhibition was a prairie-style wagon installation by YNG, a collaboration between Yoshitomo Nara and Japanese design firm Graf. Functioning as a makeshift studio, the wagon features works in progress, completed drawings, and everyday items hand-picked by Nara.
AM was also fortunate enough to capture photos of drawings and a painting that were not on display for the public. Check out these pieces, all of the work from the show, and video footage inside the wagon after the jump.
