Teaser: Camilla d’Errico “Vain Remains @ Thinkspace

“Double your pleasure, double your fun…” That’s what it looks like when we see Camilla d’Errico’s latest body of work from her upcoming show “Vain Remains.” Since we last caught up with Camilla at SDCC, she’s been heads down working hard for her upcoming exhibition at Thinkspace. Catch another little sneak peek after the jump.

Openings: Mia – “Riddles in the Dark” @ Corey Helford Gallery

AM had the chance to attend Mia’s “Riddles in the Dark” opening (previewed) at Corey Helford Gallery. Seeing that the show has only just recently been taken down, we thought it would be nice to take a look back. Mia’s latest body of work continued to impress and had noticeably evolved since the last time we saw her work. Check out all the photos of the opening after the jump.

Publications: Ryan McGinley – “Moonmilk” Book

Looks like the book we mentioned when we first told you about Ryan McGinley’s upcoming show is ready for preorder.  Entitled “Moonmilk,” the same as McGinley’s show, which is set to open Alison Jacques Gallery on September 11th, the book documents his subterranean explorations for this body of work (previewed). More images after the jump…

Openings: Mode 2 – “Reality, Fantasy, And The Web” @ Lazarides (Newcastle)

Who can take a stack of hard cardboard or a cold brick wall and create a sensually hypnotic work of art? Mode 2 can. The artist known for his erotic urban techniques opened “Reality, Fantasy, And The Web” (previewed) at Lazarides last weekend. For a show that was created completely on location in the Newcastle gallery, it’s fascinating how Mode 2 was able to work with the gritty surroundings he was given and transform it into visually arresting and erotic snapshots. Check out all the images […]

Teaser: Kris Kuksi – “Beast Anthology” @ Joshua Liner Gallery

AM just saw the one of the pieces from Kris Kuksi for his upcoming solo show at Joshua Liner Gallery and wanted to share it immediately with our readers.  This piece is entitled “The Temptation of St. Anthony,” which refers to the temptations faced by Saint Anthony the Great during his times in the Egyptian desert (a common subject in art and literature – probably the two of the most well-known, for us at least, were by Hieronymus Bosch and Salvador Dalí). We can’t wait […]

FAME Festival: Ericailcane and Word to Mother (Part II)

We recently brought you news of Ericailcane (here) and Word to Mother (here) painting murals at FAME Festival (full coverage here). The artists have since stepped into the studio to create a fantastic selection of artwork. We are loving these little ceramic sculptures by Ericailcane (above). For everyone who gets excited when Erica’s anthropomorphic creatures leap into the three-dimensional, now is the time to start jumping up and down, as there look to be quite a few little monkeys running around Grottaglie. Word To Mother […]

Update/Releases: “Che” Print by Ernesto Yerena

Last month we brought you a exclusive peek into Ernesto Yerena’s “Che” project and hinted at a pending print release. Well, the wait is over because this awesome image has been made into a special hand pulled silkscreen print to be released tomorrow August 26th at Hecho Con Ganas. Last week Ernesto and Richard hand-pulled the freshly made prints at Modern Multiples (same print studio that printed Banksy’s LA prints) in preparation for the pending release. The print comes in two colorways (green & red) and is […]

Releases: Kaws x Undercover Bear Companion

Here are some new images of the collaboration release from Undercover with their classic “eye-censored” bear and Kaws’ companion figure.  Sitting together, perhaps Mori Chack-style, the figure comes in white as well as black.  Priced at about $135, look for the release on August 29th at Undercover locations across Japan and perhaps Original Fake as well. More images after the jump…

Streets: New Banksy – “Roller Zorro”

No official word from the Banksy camp yet, but some signs point to a new stencil from Mr. B up near the A40 (looks to be on top of the Great Western Studios building) featuring a Zorro figure holding a roller and the words “Live Fast Drive Slow” on the other side of the building. With so many fakes and copycats out there these days, one must be careful identifying alleged pieces. But, the size of the piece as well as the fact the this […]

Teaser: Anthony Lister – “And Then The Wind Changed” @ New Image Art

Anthony Lister’s (interviewed) “And Then The Wind Changed” opens September 12th at New Image Art. He sent us a little image to whet our appetite while we wait for his body of work to develop. Hopefully he will grace Los Angeles with some work in the streets like he recently did in Sydney. Discuss this show here. Discuss Anthony Lister here.
