AM got hooked on Tristram Lansdowne’s urban landscape paintings when we saw his work featured earlier this year at Joshua Liner Gallery’s summer group show (covered), so we tried to find out as much as we could about this exciting young artist. Lansdowne has a solo show entitled “Entropical Paradise” opening on 27th November at Toronto’s LE Gallery. Judging from the work we’ve seen in progress here, this show looks like one to catch if you can.
Based in Toronto, Tristram’s watercoloured architectural representations depict a society swimming in urban decay through the graf covered abandoned and isolated structures. We asked our friend – local boy, Simon Cole of Show and Tell Gallery if he could visit Tristram at his studio and take a look around for us. Simon came up with the goods in the photographs you see here and after the jump…
Discuss Tristram Lansdowne here.
Many thanks to Simon Cole for the pictures!
