Openings: XXI @ Urban Angel

Urban Angel in London currently has a wicked group show entitled “XXI” on view through February 27th. The exhibition features both new and secondary market pieces from over 21 street artists including: Aiko, Anthony Lister, Antony Micallef, Banksy, Bast, Blek Le Rat, DFace, Faile, Herakut, Hush, Judith Supine, Mr. Brainwash, Nick Walker, Sixeart, Swoon, and Titifreak. Openings: Movers and Shakers @ POV Evolving

“Movers and Shakers” (previewed) opened on Valentine’s Day in Los Angeles’ Chinatown at POV Evolving Gallery and AM dropped by to check it out. Some of the participating artists who also dropped by included Buff Monster, Johnny “KMNDZ” Rodriguez, Mia, and Tessar Lo, among others. Check out photos of the opening after the jump!

On the Streets: Blu x Swoon – Barcelona

Italian street artist extraordinaire Blu recently was invited to speak in Barcelona at the fifth annual “Influencers” festival hosted by the Center of Contemporary Culture (CCCB).Â He was also commissioned to put up this fantastic mural of a giant shark made of money devouring old painted slogans as well as bearing down on a Swoon wheatpaste (although we are not sure if this was a collaboration). Grateful Palate’s James Jean Wine

When AM visited James Jeanâ€™s “Kindling” show at Jonathan Levine (here), the gallery served up some delicious wine with some of JJ’s artwork on it. Turns out that James designed three series of wine labels for California-based Grateful Palate. There are three different types of wine in the line: “Southern Belle” Shiraz, “Diddley Boo” Riesling, and “Poor Thing” Grenache. Each bottle has one of three different artwork on the label. Banksy @ Dreweatts’ “Urban Art”

Two original works by Banksy, “No Ball Games” and “Go Flock Yourself,” will be auctioned off on February 26th at the London flagship location of Selfridges when they host “Urban Art” in conjunction with auction house Dreweatts. Banksy collectors will surely be keeping a close eye on these two lots to see how prices hold up during this global economic crisis. “No Ball Games,” measuring 91 x 91.5 cm, carries an estimate of Â£30,000-60,000. Stella Im Hultberg’s show “The Insentient World” (teased) is opening tonight at Roq La Rue showing concurrently with Andrew Hem’s (interviewed) show.Â Her show will feature approximately six canvas paintings and six tea-stained paper pieces.Â She took a little time out from her busy schedule to work on a creative process feature for our readers focusing on one of her canvas works (12″ x 14″) entitled “Nobody and Everyone Else.”Â Take a look after the jump.
