Toronto’s Show & Tell Gallery continues to bring a succession of new and interesting artists to our attention and this time, it is the turn of Toronto homeboy Ryan Dineen. For Dineen, working with oil on canvas seems to be as comfortable as working outdoors on his impressive murals and graff pieces. Dineen portrays the landscape of the city with a level of edginess that we love – sombre, weathered, faded, decayed – evoking thoughts of past glories enjoyed within the setting.
Fellow Toronto based artist Jacques Oule shares the stage for this two person show – “Cityscrapes.” Looks like an interesting pairing – check it out if you can. The show runs from March 5th – March 28th 2010.
