Bold Hype Gallery has been bringing the New Contemporary scene to Orlando for a while now. Their next group show, entitled “Strangers” is their first exhibition to be held at their new space following their recent relocation to New York. This show brings together an interesting international mix of artists for us, with some newer names amongst others we are more familiar with.
Opening on Thursday 3rd June, Adam Alaniz, Chinamike, Andy Council, Heisuke Kitazawa (pcp), kozyndan , Travis Lampe, Sean Morris, Sidney Pink, Skinner, Deth P. Sun, Ayiana Udesen and Kirsty Whiten make up the grouping. Kozyndan, who are also just about to open a show in London at Nelly Duff on the same day, have produced a new panoramic piece as their contribution to the exhibition. We’ll also be looking forward to see what UK representatives Chinamike (pictured above), Andy Council and Kirsty Whiten bring to the show as well as one of our more recent favorites, Baltimore based Sidney Pink.
It looks as though being studio-mates can have it’s advantages – especially when you are working together. Andy Council and Chinamike share a studio space in Bristol, and as well as making individual pieces for this exhibition, they have also produced a collaborative piece of work. Check it out along with some other preview images after the jump.
You can check out some other pieces from this show on Hi Fructose’s preview here.
