Next Thursday, June 9th, at The Hole in New York, Miami based art collective FriendsWithYou will be introducing a new body of work simply titled with a smiley face emoticon. The name of the show is in line with their eternally cheerful & uplifting persona, and will feature what sounds like an immersive installation of their geometric abstractions.
Presented in collaboration with Native Shoes, the exhibition is but only a portion of FWY’s “New York City cultural ambassadorship tour.” The duo will also be transporting their enormous bouncing inflatable sculpture garden Rainbow City, which was first seen at Art Basel Miami last year (covered), to 30th St and 10th Avenue to celebrate the opening of Section 2 of the High Line. The massive installation, presented in collaboration with AOL Artists will be on view from June 8th through July 5th.
