For those currently in Aspen, Colorado – perhaps on a winter vacation – you may want to add a visit to the Baldwin Gallery to your itinerary. Tom Sachs recently opened a show entitled Nautical challenge and other voodoo at the showspace located in the historic Brand Building in downtown, which should be familiar to the NY-based sculptor as he’s had multiple successful exhibitions there in the past. On display will be many intriguing items and installations created through his bricolage technique of creating unique objects or recreating familiar constructs out of everyday materials – a prime of example of which was when he replicated the space program for a recent exhibition in New York (covered).
