An interesting collection of works from Jean-Michel Basquiat is about to be made public by his ex-girlfriend Alexis Adler. In 1979, the still unknown artist began painting the walls and door of her East Village home which she smartly preserved until now along with notebooks, postcards, painted clothes, photographs, drawings on yellow legal paper, and other ephemera. Adler, along with a team of experts, has begun to sort through the material in preparation for a book, an exhibition, and sale so it will be interesting to see what she has accumulated from the famed artist’s early years.
