If you’re a fan of text used within art, then you’ll be interested in the upcoming exhibit Word Play, hosted at Design Matters Gallery in Los Angeles. The group exhibition is curated by Stephanie Chefas, who writes the Platinum Cheese blog and features Shawn Huckins (above), Greg Lamarche, Gregory Siff, Meg Hitchcock, Meryl Pataky, Ben Venom, and RERO. The media used by this group varies as much as their individual stylings, with collage, paint, neon and textile based works all being represented. The unifying bond of course is that all of the artists are regarded for the use of the written word within their aesthetic.
