David Ellis returns to the Joshua Liner Gallery for a solo show entitled Hudson River Alley—a name that seems to be a play on New York’s Hudson River Valley, near Woodstock, where Ellis recently relocated from Brooklyn. We stopped by the gallery for a quick peak and saw a varied collection of new works in many of the mediums Ellis is know for, such as glossy acrylic paintings, kinetic sculptures and tobacco-stained works on paper, with imagery capturing elements of the bucolic environment where he has been working. The opening reception is tonight from 6-8pm, and the show runs until Oct. 19.
