Currently showing at the Stephen Friedman Gallery in London is Kehinde Wiley’s The World Stage: Jamaica. For his first ever UK solo exhibition, and coinciding with the start of Frieze Week, the American artist continues his acclaimed series of works painting urban youths in the poses seen in 17th and 18th century British portraiture. In this instance, it is also the first time Wiley has included women in this series of works which further explores ideas history, power, race, and gender. Take a look at more installation shots below as well as images of the work.
