Tracey Emin’s Work On Display At The Cosmopolitan Hotel (Las Vegas)

Like last year in New York City’s Time Square, Tracey Emin’s work is currently on display in another high profile location. The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, a hotel known for its commitment to the arts, are displaying images of the UK artist’s neon love notes on its giant LED sign outside as well as on other indoor and outdoor marquees. American artist Mark Jenkins opened his second solo with Ruttkowski;68 gallery in Cologne on Friday night. Titled Terrible Horrible, the show featured a number of new tape sculptures as well as a couple of clever canvas interventions. On Friday, 4th of April, Wunderkammern Gallery in Rome opened the first Italian solo show by Aakash Nihalani. Famous for his street installations and works that play with geometry, perspective and optical illusion, the NYC-based artist created a whole new body of work for this show. Last night, Hunting Trophies opened at the Mark Moore Gallery, Jeremy Fish’s (featured) second solo with the Culver City space. Continue using custom shapes as his painting surface as well as elaborate frames with carvings, the pieces have a finished look about them and with the impeccable linework, appear almost produced in a factory. Spanish artist Borondo recently moved to London and has been very active on the streets of the British capital. Known for his raw, expressive style of painting, which often is done by scratching the paint off glass or other surfaces, he’s been creating works on shop windows, under bridges and such unusual places. Spanish muralist Aryz recently spent few days in Linz, Austria, working on this gigantic piece titled Overprotected. The painting of the mural was organized by Bubbledays, a wakeboard, music, and streetart festival happening from the 13th to 14th of June, and was created in the Linz harbor area where the event will take place. On April 11th, the Fleisher/Ollman Gallery in Philadelphia will be opening a three person show starring Barry McGee, Dan Murphy (part of Steve Powers’ ICY Signs), and Isaac T. Lin (DFW zines). Entitled Department of Neighborhood Services, the exhibition will reunite the three friends who all have an interest in graffiti and all who have shown together before.
