Next Tuesday, April 15th (at a random time between 11 am and 1 pm EDT), El Mac will be releasing a new five color screenprint through Yves Laroche entitled The Humble and Sublime. The image is based on a painting from 2010, and will come in a run of 40, be sized at 29 x 21 inches, and cost $350. Read more about the print below from the artist:

This print is based on an image I painted in 2010 titled The Humble and Sublime. I’m very proud of this piece and spent a good amount of time on it. It’s based on photos I shot of a beautiful girl in Hawaii. The title refers to a notion of subtle, transcendent beauty which is often present in spiritual art, and something I strive to achieve in my own work. I’ve been planning on making a print version ever since, and am happy to finally get around to it. This was printed in more or less the same manner in which the original was painted, by starting with a base color of black and then building up succeeding layers of lighter color over that, with the final, top layer of color being the lightest. This print has a heavy amount of metallic paint mixed in a few of the layers which is hard to convey in photos. I’m proud of this print and happy to work with my good friends in Montreal at Galerie d’art Yves Laroche who produced it.”
