FriendsWithYou x Moncler (Ginza Flagship Store)

The line entitled Happy Virus was created to launch the new flagship store in Tokyo in the top-flight Ginza shopping district. Adding in the Los Angeles-based duo’s graphics, plushes, and other design cues to the displays led to an immersive playground for shoppers who stopped by to check out the Italian-French brand’s new space. Art Focus: Parasite

Parasite’s series of Black Things paintings utilize found & existing paintings and prints as a canvas where traditional works are over-painted with brutal new geometries. The original context of the source paintings are changed and subverted with distorted volumes and masses of ‘anti-image’ to create a new vocabulary. Portions of the original image are retained by the Poland-based artist as he plays with our sense of perception – depth and dimension present a renewed allegory that emphasizes unfamiliar details within the framing of the existing image. Equally, his outdoor […]

Painted over the course of 10 days in Sao Paulo, the mural measuring 37 m high and 10 m wide featured an interesting composition of two horse and riders rendered in each artist’s characteristic style. Along with accenting the imagery with fresh palette choices, Viveros has also embellish his femme fatales with a cross-pollination of different concepts and themes seen throughout his oeuvre. The solo from the American […]

Hashimoto Contemporary‘s November exhibition looks to be a promising show featuring work from four Bay Area artists Bessma Khalaf, Jacqueline Norheim, Steuart Pittman (pictured above) and Dan Swindel. Second Nature is a departure from some of Hashimoto’s previous programming and looks to be an exciting step for the San Francisco space. Painting, sculpture and photography collide with video installation in this healthy mix of practices, thematically linked by the collective experiences of our surroundings expressed through a variety of media. We’re particularly keen on Swindel’s […]
