This week, we saw the release of Hennessy’s annual artist designed VS cognac bottle, tapping contemporary & tattoo artist Scott Campbell for the new look. Long an AM favorite, the New York-based artist brings a unique visual aesthetic which fuses his eye for the human “exterior” design with his use creative mediums (such as re-imagining the use of uncut US currency or creating graphite drawings on the interior of an eggshell) to reinterpret the iconic VS cognac bottle. Joining a notable list of peers who have worked on this project in the past with the cognac house, such as Kaws, Futura, Os Gemeos, Shepard Fairey and Ryan McGinness, Campbell uses his tattoo infused calligraphy to craft an unforgettable version of his own.
This limited edition bottle comes in two versions – a 750 ml Bottle and an extremely limited deluxe set (pictured above) which comes in a laser cut wooden case, containing a numbered leather sleeved flask, a unique sketchbook and a variant bottle with a wooden label designed by the artist.
