On the 2nd of December, Ernest Zacharevic will be releasing his latest self-produced fine art edition, No Fly Zone, a hand finished 21 layer silkscreen print. The image is based on an original canvas that will be available via Sotheby’s first ever dedicated street art auction in Hong Kong, and will also feature works from José Parla, Vhils, and Invader to name a few.
The image depicts one of Zacharevic’s signature young boy characters, portrayed in the middle of playing. Dressed up as a vintage aviator, he is holding a paper plane while showing an expressive facial gesture. Aside from painting his favorite subject matter, Zacharevic once again reached for the recurring image of a paper plane as a symbol for unspoiled children’s imagination and a simple, worry-free life. With the face and hands printed using transparent inks and silkscreens, re-creating the rich blend of tones as the original canvas, the image is wrapped with spray painted section as a signature style blend that artist has been known for. No Fly Zone measures 90cm x 70cm, comes with deckled edges and will be available in an edition of 100 pieces at 3pm GMT via ErnestZacharevic.com.
