AM recently visited Taiwan to catch Ai Weiwei’s absent exhibition at the TFAM (Taipei Fine Arts Museum). As the show’s title implies, Ai Weiwei was not present for the opening as he’s still working on clearing his previous “issues” with his home country’s government. This museum show of the controversial Chinese artist is practically a retrospective ,with spanning works from 1983-present, giving the people of Taiwan a taste of the talent and unique point of view that Ai brings to the table. The showing encompasses a broad range of his mediums such as ceramics, marble, photography, reclaimed wood, video and even bicycles (more on that later).
