Last month, AM paid a visit to the Andrew Edlin Gallery in New York to take in a new solo show from Brian Adam Douglas (interviewed), otherwise known as Elbow-Toe. Utilizing a painstaking process involving shards of cut paper in place of brush strokes, the resulting art works are amazingly textural and complex. These new pieces deal with the aftermath of natural catastrophes and the rebuilding of life and purpose that must take place. In addition the collage pieces, Elbow-Toe has also included some drawings in this new body of work.
