After taking part at this year’s Pow! Wow! Hawaii (covered), Know Hope is currently in New York City where he is setting up a mini solo show at the Scope Fair from the 6th until 9th of March. Represented by Thinkspace Gallery, the Tel-Aviv based artist will be showing all new body of work entitled ‘hese Traintracks, They Remain, Ungrudged by the Passing Through, along with mini solo show by Amy Sol and couple of other works by artists represented by the gallery.
Continuing his ongoing series of cluster works that combine drawings, collage, found objects and photographs, all framed in used, vintage frames, the whole show feels very coherent and complete. Individually, the works tell emotional stories that are emphasized through his technique. His fragile characters wrinkle the thin paper they are drawn on with the tension of the ink and multiple layers of collage add nice subtle depth to the works with the overall rough and rugged feel of the framing & compositions just adding to the overall sense of the works. The pieces will be displayed along with photos, which will create a narrative, and will add more vibrancy to his limited color palette consisting of earth colors.
