Releases: Poster Cause Project – Haiti Relief

The Poster Cause Project has just released three open-edition prints in support of the people of Haiti. Releases: Alex Pardee’s Digested Rainbow Giclee

Releasing later today is Alex Pardee’s “Digested Rainbow” giclee. “Digested Rainbow” was one of the standout pieces from his “Letters from Digested Children” show that we covered last year at FIFTY24SF. Limited to an edition of 50, the giclee comes signed and numbered and measures in at 17″ x 22″. Available sometime today through Hi-Fructose.

Teaser: Mike Shine @ SF MoMA

Following his recent recreations of his historic Art Shack at Art Basel Miami and the Museum of Craft and Folk Art earlier this year, Mike Shine starts off 2010 proper with yet another installation, this time at the prestigious SF MoMA.  Debuting on the eve of their 75th Anniversary Show, the “Mike Shine Show” will run from January 16th to the 17th.  Mike recently sent us a couple photos of the mural he’s working on, see the second process pic after the jump.

Studio Visits: Jesse Hazelip – “Sentimental Journey” @ White Walls

In 1944, the B17 Bomber “Sentimental Journey” rolled off the Douglas Aircraft Company’s California assembly line.  With it’s eight thousand pound payload capacity and thirteen .50 M2 Browning machine guns, the B17 aptly earned it’s nickname, “The Flying Fortress”.  The “Sentimental Journey” (whose nose proudly displays a picture of Betty Grable, World War Two’s most famous pin-up girl), the “Celestial Siren,” “South Sea Sinner,” and “Tempest Turner” are all subjects in Oakland artist Jesse Hazelip’s upcoming show at White Walls opening January 9th. Basel Week Miami ’09 – Primary Flight Wrap-up

Openings: Winter Group Show @ White Walls

Streets: TrustoCorp in Los Angeles

TrustoCorp, who we last saw in Miami, has just hit the streets of Los Angeles with a batch of seven new hand painted street signs.  With campaigns planned in San Francisco, NC, Miami, Atlanta, Detroit, San Diego and Chicago all within the next few months, keep an eye out for TrustoCorp coming to a town near you. Travis Louie (interviewed) opened his latest solo show, “Lifetime Companions” at the Shooting Gallery this past weekend. Consisting of nine new acrylic paintings, “Lifetime Companions” explores the relationships and origins of a cavalcade of Louie’s characters seen mostly through the eye of a wedding portraitist.
