Haroshi – “Battle At The Berrics 9” Trophy

As he has done in the past (see 5 & 7), sculptor Haroshi (featured) recently created the trophy for the ninth edition of the Battle At The Berrics. Perfectly matched with the contest held at the indoor skatepark in Los Angeles, the Japanese artist chose this time to create his version of the number 9 with his usual medium of choice – used skatedecks. Continuing their longstanding public arts program, Urban Nation in Berlin recently completed their ninth edition – Project M/9. Curated by JUSTKIDS and StreetArtNews, the event this time hosted Borondo (seen above), Fafi, Bicicleta Sem Freio, Askew, 1010, and Eron as they painted walls in the capital city with “Colors” as the theme. Camilla d’Errico Coastal.com Eyewear Collection

Coastal.com recently released an eyewear collection that Camilla d’Errico designed with Derek Cardigan. The four frames all feature tiny slivers of some of the Vancouver-based artist’s manga-influence imagery, specifically her paintings Xiomara, Water Wheel, Neo New York, and Loveless Bird (two minimalist palettes & two with vibrant and saturated colors). On July 1st, Brilliant Champion in Brooklyn will be presenting a collection of new tapestries from Erin M. Riley (interviewed), including some of her largest to date (up to as large as 8 x 8 feet). A couple of weeks ago, Sally Centigrade in Denver opened up a joint show from Kathie Olivas & Brandt Peters entitled Outer Limits. The husband and wife team presented a cluster of original works interspersed with various art toys as well as custom hand-painted items. On Saturday night (June 25th), Josh Keyes (interviewed) will be opening a joint show with Eva Funderburgh entitled Overgrown at Archimedes Gallery in Cannon Beach.
