Streets: Lonac (Zagreb)

Following in the footsteps of innovative artists before him like Blu & INSA, Lonac has created an animated piece in Zagreb, Croatia. Painted by the locally-based artist in a secret location, the detailed heart has blood pumping through (although in the wrong direction). The reason may be revealed at later time as he promises what he has unveiled is part of a much bigger project. Via StreetArtNews. Discuss Lonac here.

For the entire month of January, Cleon Peterson has an exhibition open in Hong Kong at The Space in Sheung Wan (210 Hollywood Road) with the support of Over The Influence. Entitled Purity, the new body of work features his distinctive barbaric imagery of black and white figures fighting each other and among themselves. Although you may think the title of the show looks toward the light, the American artist actually thinks purity is one of the most evil things he can think of. He explains […]

Kickstarter: Painted Oceans

Yesterday, Tristan Eaton revealed a project he has been working on getting started for the past five years – a plan to paint the Red Sands Sea Forts off the coast of the UK along with Shepard Fairey, Futura, How & Nosm, and The London Police. Although the proposal does have its naysayers who bring up some valid points, the ultimate goal is to bring enough attention to these historic structures built during World War II thereby generating enough money to hopefully preserve these for […]

Starting on February 11th, the Seattle Art Museum will be hosting a solo exhibition from contemporary portrait painter Kehinde Wiley. A New Republic will feature a selection of the American artist’s work that could be said to be a remix of Old Master paintings where the classic European subjects are typically replaced by young urban men of color, playing with ideas of power and breaking down stereotypes.
