Heather Watts for “Down The Rabbit Hole” @ Art Gallery of Calgary

Last Friday, over at the Art Gallery of Calgary, a group exhibition featuring the talents of Eric Louie, Pilar Mehlis, Landon-Jon Ference and Heather Watts opened up that put the focus of the world of pop surrealism. One of the paintings that caught our eye in particular was from Watts entitled Tree of Life. In it, you can see a circle of children attempting to protect this special tree with their imagination from the bleak surrounding and encroaching landscape. Those in the area should stop by […]

David Choe x Barbara Walters

After going on the Howard Stern show where he perhaps became the first 35 year old man to be adopted, David Choe (now the Prince of All Media) headed over for his next interview with Barbara Walters. Besides talking about and hinting that he was now worth over the speculated $200 million from Facebook riches, Walters also made good on the promise to learn “graffiti” from Choe and received her own tag – BABS-1. Discuss David Choe here.

With a drink in hand and his own animal costume, the Southern California – based artist looked ready to get his party on like many of his characters in this new body of work entitled Animal Kingdom. More photos taken for us by ©Carlos Gonzalez after the […]

Other notable videos include – Ron English’s The Detroit Project, where he and his family leave New York, travel to Detroit, and visit […]

Art Focus: Boa Mistura

Boa Mistura or “Good Mixture” is made up of five Spanish artists, Arkoh, Derko, Pahg, Purone and Rdick, who have developed their work in different fields including graffiti and mural painting, to graphic design and illustration. Collectively, they meld their talents together for various endeavors like this recent Participative Urban Art project in Vila Brâsilandia, one of the favelas in São Paulo. The intervention, with its 3D illusionary effect, focuses on “vecos” and “vielas” – winding streets that form as connections for the internal life […]
