Openings: Eric Fortune – “A Dream’s Reflection” @ LeBasse Projects

Last Saturday night, opening alongside Nate Frizzell in the Culver City art district was Eric Fortune (interviewed) “A Dream’s Reflection” in the project room of LeBasse Projects. The Ohio-based artist made it all the way out for the opening and brought along five new paintings with his somber characters floating in swirling layers of interplay between light and shadow. For those who enjoyed the glimpses we brought you of Anish Kapoor’s sculptures currently showing in Kensington Gardens, you might appreciate this video from Vernissage TV as well. This Friday, November 12th, London will get another taste of the New Contemporary art movement as London Miles will be hosting “The Idol Hours” group show. It looks like KAWS is set up to open his newest solo show, “Pay the Debt to Nature”, this Saturday night at the Parisian branch of the Emmanuel Perrotin Gallery. Along with his continued exploration of his “double x” pop abstracts, you can expect more of his large-scale sculptural works as well, although not as large as the piece in Hong Kong.
