Openings: Herakut – No Placebos @ Red Flagg

German collaborative street art sensation Herakut (interviewed) opened their show “No Placebos” last night at Red Flagg in New York. Plenty of fans were in attendance, despite the fact that it was a “surprise” show with it being announced only the day before the opening. The packed house was definitely a testament to the rapid ascendancy and popularity of their work. Studio Visits: Brendan Monroe

On a recent road trip to the Bay Area, AM took the opportunity to visit the studio of Brendan Monroe (interviewed) that he shares with Evah Fan. Although Brendan was only in the early stages of preparing for his next solo show at Richard Heller Gallery, there were still many items of interest to discuss and see. Brendan walked us through his woodworking area, showed us various in-progress sculptures, enlightened us a little about his mixed-media technique and even showed us their vegetable garden. Surrounded by the […]

Releases: Kozyndan x PUMA Line

An artist duo that we have been following for a long time now, Kozyndan (Kozy & Dan) collaborated with PUMA on a clothing and shoe line a while back. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a Europe-only release and fans in the States never got a chance to snatch some of these items up…  until now. Here is a shot of a window display at the PUMA store on the 3rd St. Promenade in Santa Monica. It appears that other stores will be carrying the line as […]

Update: Audrey Kawasaki’s Laser Cut Brooch

A little while back, we gave you a glimpse of a laser cut brooch that was to be released from Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed).  Well, it appears that some were sold at her Space Yui show in Japan and one, much to Audrey’s displeasure, has even made its way onto eBay. What is even more disturbing is the fact that the auction lists the brooch as being sold out when in fact this item is not even limited in edition and will be released for $35 […]
