Releases: KAWS x Uniqlo x Peanuts

Although we’ve barely warmed up to KAWS’ latest product (covered), he surprises us with even more news via Instagram. “I’m happy to finally be able to announce a new project releasing this April with Uniqlo…” Like his previous Uniqlo project, there will be KAWS x Peanuts apparel as well as some plush toys apparently this go around (see below). Following the initial news on the KAWS x Air Jordan 4 (covered), we now not only have an official release date for the collaboration, but also a great preview of the apparel that will be released alongside the shoes. Sporting a cool grey color reminiscent of his iconic vinyl figures, the KAWS x Air Jordan 4 is set for release later this month. Featuring graphic detailing from the Brooklyn-based artist and his famous double x’s on the heel tab as well as a glow in the dark outsole. Releases: Jen Stark – “Drippy” Clothing Line

Recently on her webstore, Jen Stark released a small clothing line featuring here “drippy” imagery. For those interested, there are now a men’s t-shirt, women’s crop top, and leggings all featuring the psychedelic drip patterns often seen in her work with a price set at $45, $40, and $55 respectively. Those are bold enough to wear these will certainly drawing attention to their style and at the same time introducing the work of Stark to everyone who sees them. Discuss Jen Stark here.

Following up on the first phase of his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration with Good Smile in 2014 (covered), James Jean (interviewed) will be releasing some of the villains from the cartoon series, films, and comic books. The Japanese manufacturer of hobby products is teaming up with Nickelodeon and Jean to design new collectible versions of Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady and Krang. Releases: Luke Chueh – “The Prisoner (Oxycontin)” Figure

This Saturday (February 25th, 5-9pm), Luke Chueh (interviewed) will be releasing the OxyContin 20Mg variant of The Prisoner figure based on one of his paintings. The pink version features one of the Los Angeles-based artist’s signature sad bears sitting entrapped in a pill bottle (just like his Vicodin edition). Those attending can expect drinks, music, food, giveaways, as well as a associated print release. Discuss Luke Chueh here.

KAWS Releasing Remaining Stock Of “BFF” Plush (Black Version)

For those who missed the original blue colorway of KAWS’ BFF plush (covered) in Thailand, there was another chance with the recent slate of black versions that were released in conjunction with his exhibition in Texas (covered). Limited to 3000, these were not easy to come by either but here is another opportunity for fans out there as the Brooklyn-based artist will be re-releasing some leftover stock tomorrow (9 PST) on his website for $200 each. Tomorrow, January 29th (1-4pm), at the New York Public Library, Visionaire will unveiling its latest virtual reality experience featuring the work of KAWS. Addam Yekutieli aka Know Hope recently released a new edition of self produced, hand-crafted necklaces titled The Confidant featuring his iconic bird symbol as a pendant. Just in time for Christmas, Jeff Soto (interviewed) has designed some ornaments based on his flower and seeker imagery.
