It just wouldn’t be Art Basel Miami week without fantastical Floridians Friends With You. This year, the energetic and imaginative duo of Sam Borkson and Arturo Sandoval will be presenting Rainbow City, a large-scale outdoor installation that in their words addresses “the potency of interaction, ritual, and play.” Constructed in Miami’s Design District, the site-specific collection of 40 simple air-filled structures—some up to 40 feet high—are meant to embrace and tower over guests, creating a feeling of reverence. Last Thursday, AM was in London’s Soho district to attend the opening of Marks & Stencils: the Pictures On Walls Christmas season pop-up gallery exhibition, which in previous years has gone by the name of Santa’s Ghetto.
