Jeff Koons Rabbit in Covent Garden (London)

Apparently, a 53-foot inflatable rabbit found shelter inside London’s Covent Garden for a little while. Courtesy of one of the biggest Pop artists working today, Jeff Koons, the familiar rabbit is part of the Tate Modern’s current exhibition “Pop Life: Art in a Material World.” It is a floating replica of a figure that was produced in stainless steel in 1986.Â That sculpture is currently on display at the Tate. Herakut Live Painting in Berlin

As most people who have seen it before can attest, live painting is definitely up there as one of the most fascinating experiences for art fans and collectors. Take a look at all the different layers and intricacies (after the jump) as Herakut (interviewed) gradually built up the layers of the painting that was donated to the Berliner Charité, a hospital. Baby Tattooville‘s Secret Society was taken into Travis Louie‘s gorgeously illustrated Victorian and Edwardian world of human oddities and mythical beings with “strange grooming habits” for one weekend. What was even better was that lucky attendees this year were able to take home the experience with a original portrait by the man himself. The highly anticipated annual Art Review Power 100 list was just released on Thursday.Â The list this year reflects the fundamental changes that the global financial crisis has unleashed onto the art world. Although he may not be a familiar name among the roster of Pop Surrealist and Low Brow artists that are typically identified with Baby Tattooville, James Gurney is a highly accomplished artist and author known for his illustrated book series Dinotopia, as well as his plen-air landscape paintings. We have an update for Faile fans as the Brooklyn collective released some stunning detailed pictures of the “Wood Paintings” which we premiered for you (here) at the recent show with their US representation Perry Rubenstein Gallery. These new pieces comprise of multiple paintedÂ snapshots of Faile’s classic imagery meticulously patched together to form a brilliant mash-up of goodness we have come to expect from the artists formerly known as A-Life. NYC street artist Gaia, along with Angry Woebots, Deseo, Dia, Scribe and Mr. Jago will be featured in “Re-up”, a new group show opening tonight at Gallery 1988SF.Â Gaia was kind enough to send us some process pictures of the woodblock and screenprints that he’ll be exhibiting. “Rhetorics of Peace” (featured above) is one of four animal prints that consist of Gaia’s contribution.
