This Friday, Lady Aiko will be visiting the United Kingdom to open a new show at Brighton’s ink_d Gallery. Openings: Mark Jenkins – “Still Life” @ Fabien Castanier Gallery

Over the weekend, a solo from Mark Jenkins (interviewed) opened at the Fabien Castanier Gallery in Los Angeles entitled Still Life. Aptly named, the exhibition featured mostly the American artist’s satirical and clever use of human forms as his form of art. Mirroring his street works, viewers can often time be taken unawares when thinking that his installations are actual people. Releases: Kozyndan – “Captives: Orcas and Pandas” Print

Later today, Kozyndan will be releasing a new print from their webstore entitled Captives: Orcas and Pandas. The new image is the third in their Animal OddCouples series of works where they pair two animals that struggle due to human activity around the world. They may be different species, but their struggle for survival is that same against mankind’s aggression and carelessness. Streets: Aaron Li Hill – “Rise and Fall” (Berlin)

Recently in Berlin, Aaron Li-Hill (interviewed) finished up a sweet mural for the One Wall Project organized by Urban Nation. Entitled Rise and Fall, the new piece takes inspiration from the greek goddess of victory as well as the film Wings of Desire, both sourced from the background of the capital city. Navigating 24 windows on the facade of the building measuring five stories high, the wall painted ended up being Li-Hill’s largest one to date. On October 1st, Stella Im Hultberg (interviewed) will be opening her first solo show in four years at Spoke Art in San Francisco. Entitled Stranger, the new selection of paintings continues the current uplifting direction of her work and promises to feature her female subjects surrounding by a lot of flowers. Showing: KAWS – “Clean Slate” @ LA NAVE (Ibiza)

Currently in Ibiza, some works from KAWS are on display at LA NAVE, a new 8,000 sq. ft. exhibition space on the island launched by New York-based gallerist and art collector Lio Malca. Anchored by the seven-metre-tall Clean Slate companion sculpture, the exhibition also includes some originals and prints on display in the transformed old salt warehouse overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
