Previews: Francesco Igory Deiana x Atelier Pica Pica – “Meeting On The Shore” @ Park Life

San Francisco’s Park Life will be hosting a July 15th opening for a collaborative exhibition between Francesco Igory Deiana and Atelier Pica Pica entitled Meeting On The Shore. Aside from showing together, the Italian born artist and Belgian art collective actually created the entire body of work together, which resulted in a coherent show. The title was a result of the fact that the artists never really met in person before they decided to collaborate and do this experimental project together. For this show, the artists shared Francesco’s new studio space in the city and created everything together from scratch. They […]

While on the surface, the event was a group exhibition at an art gallery, […]

Showing: Thierry Noir – “Jazz” @ Howard Griffin Gallery

After setting up Thierry Noir’s London retrospective (covered) and a Los Angeles show (covered), Howard Griffin Gallery invited the legendary Berlin wall artist to put together another solo show that celebrates his second biggest love – music. Jazz was planned as a synthesis between the worlds of art and music through the colorful and playful filter of Noir’s practice, and it resulted in an overwhelming sensory experience from the floor to the ceiling of the gallery. While living in vibrant Berlin in the 80s, the French-born artist was constantly influenced […]

Two of the murals featured his more figurative work while the other was covered with looks to be a disassembled car. Take a look at more photos below… Discuss Aryz here.

Coming up in December of this year, an interesting pairing of Andy Warhol and Ai Weiwei will open at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne before traveling to Pittsburgh’s Andy Warhol Museum in June of 2016. Surveying the careers of two of the most significant artists of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, the exhibition will feature over 300 works, including immersive installations and a wide representation of painting, sculpture, film, photography, publishing and social media. Most intriguing will be their goal of exploring the parallels and intersections between […]

Art Focus: Lisa Ericson

Painter Josh Keyes (interviewed) recently clued us in to the work of his wife Lisa Ericson by posting some of her work on various social media. We were especially drawn to a series she calls Mouserflies, for obvious reasons as you can see from the surreal hybrids seen here. For those interested in more from the Portland-based artist, you can see work from her as well as Keyes in the Unfathomable group show currently on view at The Piranha Shop, curated by Antler Gallery. Discuss Lisa Ericson here.
