Rewind: Sept 22 – Nov 2

Update: Brendan Monroe – “Blobography” @ Heath Ceramics (Los Angeles)

Tomorrow night (November 1st) in Los Angeles, Brendan Monroe (interviewed) will be be ready to reveal all the hard work he has put in at Heath Ceramics. Blobography will feature some of the amazing organic sculptural forms he created in their workshop as well as some original paintings and drawings. Tomorrow night in San Francisco, Thinkspace will be taking over Hashimoto Contemporary with a group exhibition entitled LAX / SFO. Openings: Alex Gross – “Future Tense” @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery

Earlier this month, Alex Gross (interviewed) presented a new body of work at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery in New York, site of his last showing in the Big Apple in 2012 (covered). Upcoming: Etam Cru – “Bedtime Stories” @ Galleria Varsi

Sainer and Bezt, better known as Etam Cru, are opening their first Italian solo show at Galleria Varsi in Rome, tonight, the 30th of October. Titled Bedtime Stories, this show is curated by Marta Gargiulo, and will present new canvases by the young Polish artists as well as several new drawings. Known for their large scale murals (they’re just finishing their latest one on a eight story building in Rome), the artists created mainly big canvases for this show. Streets: Nunca (Poland)

Continuing their ongoing art program, Urban Forms Gallery in Lodz, Poland recently invited in Nunca to add his mark on the city. Traveling a long way from his native Brazil, the street artist painted some tribal figures peaking through the foliage, rendered with his signature crosshatching strokes. Previews: Aaron Li-Hil – “Electric Currents and Mortal Wounds” @ White Walls

On November 8th, White Walls in San Francisco will be turning over their project space over to Aaron Li-Hill for his first solo with the gallery. Openings: WK Interact – “WK/Act 4” (Pop-Up)

WK Interact recently launched his latest publication entitled WK/Act 4. This book houses works from 1989 to the present day and spans 25 years of the French born/Brooklyn based artist’s storied career. To mark this occasion, WK worked in partnership with KLINIK for a pop up exhibition at The Garage in New York City.
