Matthew Feyld – ‘Untitled (197 Drawings)’ @ Nowhere Montreal

Matthew Feyld’s new book entitled Untitled (197 Drawings) has just been released by Blackdot Publishing, and to accompany the edition, Nowhere Gallery in Montreal hosted an exhibition under the same untitled title featuring many of the works presented within the book. Matthew’s drawings and paintings have been a point of fascination for us at AM for a while now, and we’ve enjoyed watching the evolution of Feyld’s work. Gone are the figurative and mixed media creations we first associated him with five or so years ago. His draftsman-like qualities have been exchanged […]

Openings: Cyrcle. – “Organized Chaos!” (Los Angeles)

Last night, AM stopped by the private opening of Cyrcle.’s new solo show titled Organized Chaos! Taking place in Los Angeles, this new exhibition by the two-man collective focuses on the central idea of the cube and the way in which bees and flowers relate to society as a whole. It’s interesting to point out that unlike most exhibitions in which art is supposed to hang on a wall, this show actually invites the viewer to interact with the artwork itself. Various pieces are made up of […]

Preview: Joe Sorren – “Everything’s Alright Sweetie, Please Get Some Sleep” @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery

For nearly two decades, the name Joe Sorren has been synonymous with an ability to create a story of endless interpretation within his works. If you have been following the surrealism painters of the modern age, then you certainly know the name and the work. But who is Joe Sorren? The man behind the art has remained somewhat of an enigma. He is seclusive perhaps borderline reclusive, especially in regards to his sanctuary of creation. Sorren firmly believes his art should speak without having to speak […]
