Last Thursday night, The Hundreds hosted their Garfield themed art show and celebration at a pop-up location in Santa Monica. Along with the art, there were costumed characters, a signing by Garfield creator Jim Davis, and of course, the feline’s favorite food – lasagna! Hate it or love it, it was certainly interesting to see some unexpected artists in the lineup get out of their comfort zone for some themed pieces for once. Wow, what a stunning collaboration between Robert Lazzarini, well known for his distorted sculptures, and KAWS in what we like to call the “Distorted Companions”. Lazzarini, who you may remember recently exhibited his twisted brass knuckles alongside KAWS’ work at the It Ain’t Fair exhibition (covered) by OHWOW during Art Basel Week, is a fellow Brookylnite and seems to be a natural partner for the re-engineering of the iconic figure on its 10th anniversary.
