Setup: Eelus & C215 – “Paradise Lost” @ Brooklynite Gallery

It looks like Eelus has arrived in New York and is already started work on Brooklynite’s walls. The UK street artist will be showing jointly with C215 in “Paradise Lost” (teased), both of which are known for their stencil work. Take a look at at more photos as Eelus works on some classic imagery like his “jump rope girl” and “firestarter” after the jump…

Video: David Choe x Machete (The Movie)

Sure to be cult movie classic, Machete, is being released this Friday and you can be sure AM will be in line for this one. However, one person who we know has been lucky enough to see the movie already is David Choe (featured). For once, the suits did the right thing and chose one the grimiest artists out there to create some of the movie’s promotional material. Take a look at the video above as David discusses the creative process behind the project – […]

New Banksy Videos

Along with the batch of photographs Banksy posted of his new work on his website the other day, he also released two videos. One is a dolphin ride for kids, but modified with netting and barrel with a crude oil leak with typical Banksy humor.  Also, if you look carefully at the video after the jump, you may be seeing Mr. B. himself in disguise heckling Prince Charles.

Highlights: Recommended Openings for Sept. 1st – Sept. 4th

The official launch of the fall art season is upon us and with it an amazing array of high profile shows are opening the world over this weekend. From big solo shows in Los Angeles from the likes of Sarah Joncas, Buff Monster, Dabs Myla, Nathan Ota, and Yumiko Kayukawa to big solo shows in San Francisco from Stanley Donwood and in the UK from Guy Denning. All that and I didn’t even mention Kent Williams’ big solo in NM and Brendan Monroe’s show in […]

Streets: Blu in Madrid

Blu’s amazing largescale works are now expected to be amazing whenever we hear of something new from the Italian street artist. What we really need now is a big solo show for him to see how his works translate in the gallery setting – hopefully we’ll get to see something like that from him soon. Here is his latest piece (in Madrid), again taking aim of one of his favorite targets – the corporate fat cats. A closer look after the jump…

Streets: Sam3 & Liqen Collab in Spain

We had just been introduced to Liqen and one of his collaborations recently and here we already see him creating another joint mural, this time with Spanish compatriot Sam3. This piece in Pontevedra, entitled Sirena II, has one of Liqen’s fanciful monochromatic white works taking a little swim with clusters of Sam3’s signature shadow people. See the whole mural and some detailed shots after the jump…

Barry McGee Mural on Houston & Bowery Completed

As quickly as it started just after midnight of Monday morning, it ended. Barry McGee (aka Twist) and his friend/assistant Josh Lazcano (aka Amaze) worked throughout the night into the wee hours of the morning (definitely outlasting AM into the am…) to complete an amazing mural that will hopefully last long enough for the people of New York to enjoy. We went back to the spot to enjoy the fruits of Barry & Josh’s Labor basking in daylight on the iconic corner of Houston & Bowery. […]

Futura & X-Ghetto 666 for Chill.and.Go 2 Exhibition

Apparently, Futura hasn’t gotten his fill of collaborations after an epic piece in New York with Os Gemeos early this month. He recently partnered up with local masked artist X-Ghetto 666 (yes, that’s his name) in Mexico to customized a blacked out bus for the Chill.and.Go 2, a big cycling event. Take a look at more pics of the results of his can control and technique after the jump…

Streets: More Banksy

Looks like Banksy has updated his website with some of his recent work, confirming the Hastings and Glastonbury pieces we previously reported on. What’s even more interesting are some previously unseen stencils that are revealed as well as some clever pranks & installation pieces on video (more on that later). More after the jump…

Nuart ’10: Dotmasters

After sharing the fantastic Blu x Erica Il Cane collaboration from the Nuart Festival with you, the next mural we want to bring your attention to is the Dotmaster’s piece. Check out the footage above of a nice little timelapse or take a look at some pics after the jump…
