Streets: JR – “I Am a Man” Mural / Unframed Project (Washington, D.C.)

French photographer and street activist JR, who was just featured in a video for the new MOCAtv channel, was also recently in Washington, D.C. working on a mural for his Unframed Project where he takes archived images and uses them in a different context. Streets: Nuart Festival 2012

At the end of last month, Norway saw another edition of the annual Nuart Festival roll around. And as usual, another stellar lineup of artists stopped by to work on public art projects for local and traveling street art fans to enjoy. Participants Aakash Nihalani, Dolk, Eine, How & Nosm, Jordan Seiler, Mobstr (above), Ron English, Niels Shoe Muelman, Saber, Sickboy, The Wa also found time to create some indoor installations and murals for an associated group showing. Streets: RIME, DG, and TOPER

After working with TOPER on a collaboration in New York back in July (covered), RIME (aka Jersey Joe) has joined forces again with the Queens-based SMART crew member  on a new mural. This time, with the skills of NG as well, they hit the rooftops of Brooklyn with a new piece featuring thugged out versions of Felix The Cat, Mighty Mouse, and Top Cat. Streets: Shepard Fairey (London)

As we mentioned last month, Shepard Fairey (featured) will be opening a show at the StolenSpace Gallery in London entitled Sound and Vision. Looks like he made an early trek across the pond to work on some large-scale public murals of his distinctive imagery including this new piece on Ebor Street in East London. We got to meet up with Munich based Sat One whilst he was in London recently for the Futurism 2.0 exhibition, and witnessed this gem of a wall collaboration with Roid. Now back in Munich, the hard-working street muralist has whipped up this privately commissioned little jammy entitled Inner Path.
