POW WOW ‘ 11 / Streets: Angry Woebots & Ekundayo

It looks like the POW WOW preparations are already underway in Hawaii as late addition Ekundayo and Aaron Martin (Angry Woebots) get up on the walls of the FreshCafe / Loft in Space venue. The space will house all the live-painting, starting on the 16th, and main event on the 19th so hopefully we’ll be seeing more murals soon. More pics after the jump…

Studio Visit: Crash

In anticipation for his current show at one of our favorite hangouts bOb lounge & gallery, AM paid a visit to the studio of old school graffiti writer and pop artist Crash (John Matos). His Lichtenstein inspired style mixed with his 80’s graffiti know-how creates a unique approach for this urban veteran. It looks like Titi Freak has been busy in Japan getting up on the streets (seen after the jump) as well as painting this mural for the Crazy Crimers 2 group show. This was certainly not the first time in the “Land of the Rising Sun” for the Brazilian born and based artist as he draws influence from his South American roots as well as his Japanese heritage. UK street artist Phlegm recently painted this new piece, Whale of a Time, at the Riverside car park in Rotherham. Already damaged by the rain, the mural will be replaced in about a month and he also plans to paint a giant squid and another boat. More views after the jump…

Parisian street artist LUDO (interviewed) continues to defend his home turf with another piece in the City of Lights, this time in the middle of the main thoroughfare, Champs-Elysees. Streets: Slinkachu – “The Last Resort”

Miniature photographer Slinkachu recently posted up a new street installation on his blog entitled The Last Resort. This piece is the first of many in a new body of work he is preparing for his solo Concrete Ocean at Andipa Gallery coming up in March. This will be his second show at the London gallery and if his last show there was any indication, fans will be treated to an intriguing mixture of new images and installations.
