Streets: El Mac Mural in Chelsea

When El Mac was in town for his show “The Humble and Sublime” at Joshua Liner Gallery last week, he also laid down some work in the streets of New York. He labored through both rain and shine to create this little gem on the corner of 10th Ave & 26th St. in Chelsea. We like the radiant glow that this piece exudes. Openings: Youtube Play – “Biennial of Creative Video” @ Guggenheim Museum NYC

Last night, AM attended the opening celebration of the Youtube Play: a Biennial of Creative Video at the  Guggenheim Museum in New York. As previewed, the 23,000 videos were filtered down to “the Shortlist“ of 125 that were then whittled down to the final 25 winners. The museum was packed with patrons and art fans attending the inaugural ceremonies. Streets: Erica Il Cane & Lucy McLauchlan in Lisbon

After another wildly successful Fame Festival this year under his belt, Angelo Milano headed down to Lisbon for Part II of the CRONO project (see Part I with Os Gemeos, Blu, and Sam3). This time, Erica Il Cane & Lucy McLauchlan were on hand to work on a collaboration piece (you can see the Sam3 piece peeking out on the left). After visiting the Fame Festival, we came away with a even greater respect for Sam3’s deceptively simple shadow work, especially after seeing a pretty awesome piece in the gallery show. Baby Tattooville ’10 – Art Jam

Baby Tattooville’s Art Jam is the artist activity that has received the most attention at each BT weekend. This is not without great reason as this annual fixture involves every individual artist at BT. During Art Jam, all of the featured and returning artists are welcomed to join together in creating a once-in-a-lifetime collaborative piece. Update: JR – “The Wrinkles of the City” (Shanghai Biennale)

It looks like JR’s latest project (through Galerie Magda Danysz) is underway in China as he starts his installs for “The Wrinkles of the City”. The street pieces are set to coincide with the Shanghai Biennale and will feature the French photographer’s captured images of the elderly who represent the memory of the city.
