Street: Phlegm for Walk & Talk Festival (Azores)

Despite a time-consuming process of producing the recently released handmade and silkscreened Illuminated Alphabet zine, Phlegm continues to find time to put in work on the streets. This amazing new piece continues his fascination with aquatic vessels and was painted for the recent Walk & Talk Festival in Azores, Portugal and only took four days despite its massive size and detail. Among the other 30 artists making appearances on São Miguel island were Vhils, Interesni Kazki, and Escif. More pics after the jump via Unurth.

Continuing our summary of Anthony Lister’s (interviewed) murals while he was in Los Angeles (see the first set of walls here), we turn our attention to the last four locations. Including this photoset will be his work at the Ironlak store (above), De La Barracuda Part II, as well as spots in Melrose and Venice. Since the TrustoLand installation and show at Art Basel Week Miami last year, we haven’t had any updates on satiric street pranksters TrustoCorp. After celebrating his 1000th piece placed in the streets with a huge show in Paris, it looks like Invader is continuing onward towards 2000. Take a look at these new pieces in the Brazilian street art mecca of São Paulo. Again it’s been a busy couple of weeks for street art in London. It’s nice to see street legend Futura active in New York again. The last time we saw him hit up his home city, he was creating an epic collaboration piece with Os Gemeos at a Chelsea public school (P.S. 11). Shepard Fairey and his mural attacked in Copenhagen

As you know, Shepard Fairey’s (featured) was just in Copenhagen for his show at V1 Gallery (covered). We had privately been told by multiple sources that him and Romeo Trinidad of OBEY Clothing had been attacked while in town, but didn’t want to write about it until there was official word released (which just happened). Suffice it to say, it was a complicated situation in part perpetuated by misinformation in the press surrounding the first mural in a series of murals he did on the streets. […]

Copenhagen has been a pretty popular destination for international artists recently. After only recently been gifted multiple murals from Shepard Fairey’s (featured), who was in town for his solo show (covered), renowned graffiti king COPE2 arrived to paint his famous “bubble” tags on an adjacent wall next to one of Shep’s pieces.
