Streets: Mike Stilkey (Los Angeles)

Mike Stilkey sent us some flicks of a recent mural he painted in Los Angeles. The 13 x 14 foot mural was painted outside of a photography studio in La Brea. We like how this furry guy brightens up his new home, and how his camera nods towards what’s inside the premises. Stilkey’s murals never fail to disappoint! Discuss Mike Stilkey here.

Streets: How & Nosm on Bowery & Houston (Part II)

Right after super storm Sandy rolled through NYC, we brought you an inside look at the famous Bowery & Houston wall as twins How & Nosm worked industriously to make their mark on this landmark mural location. Now, we can bring you some photos of the completed piece which utilized their signature red & gray-scale color palettes. From the looks of things, the brothers got into a real nice groove layering detail upon detail into mural, which in the end seemed to flow together seamlessly. Along with […]

Streets: Anthony Lister (Newcastle)

After sharing Anthony Lister (filmed) work on the streets of London, here are now photos of some walls he painted in Newcastle as he ramps up for his simultaneous exhibitions opening on Friday (November 16th) at the Outsiders in both cities. Unslung Heroes is the title for the new paintings and sculptures as the Aussie street artist gets ready to be the the first to occupy both Outsiders locations since David Choe made his UK debut in 2008. Streets: Le 4eme MUR 2012 – Recap

After reporting on Escif’s murals for Le 4eme MUR last year (here & here), we now have a recap of the 2012 edition. The festival’s name (translated to “the fourth wall”) is a theater expression that symbolizes a virtual wall between the actor and the public which can apparently also be applied to the work of the street artist and his audience. This year’s lineup includes a return of Escif along with Mr Jago, Vhils (above), Tellas, Ericailcane, and 108. Check out more photos below…

Streets: JR (Japan)

After working on a particularly poignant mural in Washingon DC, JR has headed to the Far East to spread his Inside Out love. Going mobile with his giant photo booth in a converted truck, the French photograffeur has been traveling though Japan with his crew and local volunteers, focusing especially in areas hit by the devastating tsunami which still have not completely recovered over on year out. More photos below… Photos via the artist. Discuss JR here.

It’s been a rough few weeks for New York City as Hurricane Sandy came up and took the city hostage as it wreaked havoc with flooding, blackouts and gas shortages. On Friday, twin brothers How & Nosm took the tall task of being the next artists invited to work on the iconic Bowery & Houston wall. This week’s Streets: World Roundup feature is headlined by a new mural (photo by Lois Stavsky) in New York City by Ron English, who worked overtime to finish it before Hurricane Sandy hit. Streets / Videos: Herakut – The Giant Storybook Project (Part I)

It’s time to update you on something that German duo Herakut have been working on recently – The Giant Storybook Project.
