Always one of the things attendees look forward to, Baby Tattooville’s Secret Store opened last night at 9pm sharp. Prints, originals, publications, and other art products from this year’s participating artists (Anthony Ausgang, Sas Christian, Olivia De Berardinis, Ron English, Camille Rose Garcia, Bosko Hrnjak, Marion Peck, KRK Ryden, Mark Ryden, and Isabel Samaras) were made available to each customer in the order of their specific numbers, with the people with most seniority having first dibs on purchases. Tonight at the Riverside Art Museum, Fade To Black opened its door to the public after a private dinner reception on the roof of the museum. Previews: Adam Neate – “Dimensionalist Painter” @ Elms Lester

In what has become an annual tradition, Elms Lester in London will be showing new work from Adam Neate (interviewed) starting later today (October 2). As indicated from the title of the solo exhibition, Dimensionalist Painter, the British artist has been known for his unique three dimensional sculptural painting technique that results in works that engage viewers on multiple levels. The 25 new works feature familiar subjects such as portraiture and self-portraiture, but also experiments with new themes. Discuss Adam Neate here.

Last week, Soundwall in New York unveiled Resonance, a new immersive installation by Aaron Li-Hill (interviewed) made possible by LeBasse Projects. Made from wood, aerosol, primer and acrylic mirror, the piece was inspired by one of the Brooklyn-based artist’s favorite music groups – A Tribe Called Red. Upcoming: EVOL – “Mind the Gap” @ Krasnoyarsk Museum Biennale

For the upcoming Krasnoyarsk Museum Biennale in Russia, the Berlin-based EVOL has prepared a special installation featuring his signature reproduction of urban structures. The twist on this piece though, entitled Mind the Gap, is the red-tinged separation that runs right down the center of the buildings. The 11th biennale opens in Karsnoyarsk, Siberia at the Krasnoyarsk Museum Center on September 30th. On September 11th CULT / Aimee Friberg Exhibitions in San Francisco opened Haptic Render, a solo exhibition of new drawings and installations by Francesco Igory Deiana. With this show, the locally-based artist introduced a new direction in his work, exploring the translation of form between the digital and analog worlds. Tomorrow (September 24), as part of YoungArts Awareness Day, sculptor Daniel Arsham has prepared a special interactive event in Miami. Similar to his current exhibition in Hong Kong (covered), the Brooklyn-based artist will have an installation of his “future relics” on display, with nearly 2,000 objects made of chalk that visitors can use to draw or write their impressions of the future. Thursday night (6-9pm) in New York, Aaron Li-Hill (interviewed) will be unveiling a new installation at Soundwall entitled Resonance. Featuring the signature kinetic energy and geometric lines seen in the Brooklyn-based artist’s work (example above), the new piece is certainly something you want to see in person.
