Streets / Basel Week Miami ’10: Jeff Soto

Our friend Jeff Soto’s (featured) just sent over photos of some of his escapades in Miami with his old graffiti partner Maxx242. In town for Art Basel Week (he is painting a mural for Wynwood Walls and is listed for Primary Flight), you can be sure the Sotofish sure knows how to have a good time (see last year).  Stay away from the alligators this time! Basel Week Miami ’10 – Art Basel First Look

After months of anticipation, the time has finally come for the curtains to be drawn back and the show to begin at this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach. Prior to the public opening tomorrow, December 2nd, today marked Vernissage day, which allowed exclusive press access to the massive Miami Beach Convention Center. The excitement was palpable, as we enjoyed scouring the grounds and taking in all the artwork lining the walls from some of the most prestigious galleries the world over. Overall, we thought that the works offered this year were stronger than last year’s edition and hope you agree as well. […]

Preview: Basel Week Miami ’10 – Jen Stark @ Carol Jazzar Gallery

Playful mixed-media artist Jen Stark will be showcasing a new selection of her meticulously constructed sculptural works during Art Basel Week in Miami. Just thinking about the amount of time and effort put into cutting and connecting every last piece of paper with such precision makes my head hurt. However, the resulting […]

Teaser: Basel Week Miami ’10 – TrustoLand & More

During last year’s Art Basel Week, the world was first introduced to the newly formed TrustoCorp with their unique take on urban art, in which they beautified a host of South Beach sign posts (covered). It looks like the socially conscious street art collective, along with the assistance of Contra Projects, is returning to the scene of the crime and has some big plans for this year’s art festivities in Miami. The subversive collective, who typically spend their time enriching urban neighborhoods – yet simultaneously […]
