This unique multimedia art conference addresses many different aspects of art world including photography, illustration, street, fashion and film. Thousands of aspiring Latin American artisans attended the conference in search of inspiration from featured artists such as Ms. Crabapple. Ever the busy body, Molly made time to give a talk at the packed conference, interview with MTV and […]

Openings / Interviews: Luc Price – “Jesus Help Me Find My Proper Place” @ Black Rat Press

Thursday night saw the opening of Luc Price’s “Jesus Help Me Find My Proper Place” show at The Black Rat Press gallery in London. Taking a major departure from his previous paintings and collages, and ditching his street art name of Cyclops, Luc has created a major installation for this show that offers an intimate glimpse into his provocative views on life, death and everything in between. Not a conventional or easy show by any means, but it’s good to see an artist pushing himself […]

We recently showed you a couple of preview images from the wonderful Lori Earley’s debut UK solo show, “Laments and Lullabies,” and the teaser images got our expectations rising high to see Lori’s work first hand. AM went along to the private view reception at the Opera Gallery to take a look for ourselves – check out our pictures after the jump.

Openings: Damien Hirst @ The Wallace Collection

Damien Hirst’s series of paintings at The Wallace Collection is now open to the public so we suggest you stop by and judge for yourself whether you like this new direction for the not-so-young-anymore YBA. We kinda like these new pieces, not just because we are partial to artists who lay their actual hands on the works they sign their name on, but because Hirst was able to retain his signature imagery in this dark blue series of paintings.  Make no mistake, with the skulls, […]

Openings: Masakatsu Sashie – “Twentieth Century Boy”

Darren Romanelli (Dr. Romanelli) and Eric Nakamura (Giant Robot) recently opened a one-night only pop up show featuring new works by AM favorite Masakatsu Sashie in Los Angeles (previewed). The show paid tribute to the band T-Rex (led by Marc Bolan), who is one of Sashie’s favorite bands growing up. The show benefited the Light of Love Foundation charity. Check out some pics after the jump.

Openings: “Stencil Art Show” @ White Walls

Saturday, October 10th saw the opening of the Stencil Art Show at White Walls in San Francisco.  Featuring Shepard Fairey and Studio Number One protege Ernesto Yerena, the photo-realism of David Soukup, graffiti cum graphic design of Tes One (teased), Easter basket palette of Casey Gray and haunting alleys of Adam 5100‘s mind, the Stencil Art Show appears to have been a success.  Reasonable asking prices have led to a well-selling show, a vital blueprint in today’s downtrodden but buyer friendly market.  Detail and opening […]

Openings: Ray Caesar @ Art London

AM stopped by Richard Goodall’s booth at the Art London fair a couple weekends ago to check out the work of Ray Caesar. As we previously mentioned, Caesar was showing both new and old works, all demonstrating his imaginative prowess and skill at creating images that aren’t easily forgotten.  Eschewing the more classical artistic techniques, he proves that the sometimes even more time-consuming digital works can be just as riveting if done properly. More images after the jump….

Openings: Waleska Nomura – “Moving On” @ The Brick Lane Gallery

Adam Neate (interviewed), who is currently showing at Elms Lester, was not the only member of the Neate family with an exhibition in London recently.  His wife, Walseka Nomura, originally a Sao Paulo graffiti artist (now based in London), also was showcasing her “Moving On” body of work at The Brick Lane Gallery for about a week.  Take a look at the images after the jump…
