We can’t seem to get enough of Tara McPherson and Molly Crabapple since drawing along side them at Baby Tattooville in the Riverside Art Museum (covered). So, AM decided to stop by and get in a little schooling with a special edition of NYC’s Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School featuring none other than our friend Tara McPherson.Â For this special session a “life drawing” model was transformed into a beautiful & seductive “Lonely Heart” siren. Openings: Greg Gossel – “Broken” @ Soo Visual Arts Center

Greg Gossel (interviewed) recently opened his latest solo show, “Broken” at the Soo Visual Arts Center (previewed). Featuring over twenty new works as well as an installation, “Broken” is Greg’s first solo show in Minnesota, though he’s a Minneapolis resident. Those in the area who want to see the show should hurry to Soo Visual Arts Center as the show closes this Thursday, November 29th. More pictures after the jump.

As we mentioned in Part I of our coverage of the Giant Robot Biennale, we saved four artists in the upper gallery to share with you in this article. The work of James Jean (interviewed), David Choe, Jeff Soto (interviewed), and Souther Salazar were definitely the highlights of the exhibition, at least in our minds. This year’s Giant Robot Biennale opened last Saturday night at the Japanese American National Museum. To start things off, George Takei, (of Star Trek fame and now of Heroes fame), introduced and brought Eric Nakamura (interviewed) up on stage. Eric, one of the founders of GR then proceeded to give a speech and introduced some of the artists. Friday night, AM had the pleasure of attending the preview opening of two shows at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery. After moving from London to Amsterdam, Joe Ledbetter hit up Paris for the third leg of his European Amalgamation Tour (details here). This time, with a show at Artoyz entitled “Birds and Bees,” Joe once again brought a new body of work including paintings, sketches, prints and a special colorway of his Terror and Magnus toys.
