Releases: Takashi Murakami x Vans Collaboration

On June 27th, Takashi Murakami will be releasing a collaboration he has been working on with Vans. Utilizing his iconic imagery, the set will include six pairs of Vans Classic Slip-Ons, four skate decks, three tees, and three pairs of slip-ons for your little art collectors out there. It sounds like these will come in limited quantities, so do your best to purchase these sooner than later when they come out. Via Opening Ceremony. Discuss Takashi Murakami here.

Yesterday, AM had the opportunity to stop by the Long Beach Museum of Art (LBMA) for what’s shaping up to be an epic exhibition. Put on in collaboration by Thinkspace Gallery, the people behind POW! WOW!, and LBMA, the main attraction of Vitality and Verve: Transforming the Urban Landscape are the on site installations and murals. As one of the collateral shows of the Venice Bienalle 2015, Personal Structures / Crossing Borders, organized by the European Cultural Centre, opened at two locations in Venice on the 9th of May. Openings: Shepard Fairey – “Printed Matters” @ Library Street Collective

Opening last month and showing through the middle of August is Shepard Fairey’s (featured) solo at the Library Street Collective in Detroit. Entitled Printed Matters, the exhibition featured a diverse collection of the Los Angeles-based artist’s distinctive work across all mediums.
