The LA Art Show is set to open today through the end of the weekend at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Like last year, there will be a special section devoted to low brow, pop surrealism, and the new contemporary art movement entitled Littletopia (see 2014). Coming up in February, the New York City Ballet will be collaborating with their third artist – Dustin Yellin (also see Faile & JR) – in series of special shows. Bringing sculpture into the arena of dance, the performances will feature the Brooklyn-based artist’s signature “window sandwiches” featuring the human form created out of collaged elements. Greg Eason makes a welcome return to London in a two-person exhibition alongside the Bristol-based Anouk Mercier this week entitled CLASSIC/ LUXURY / EXOTIC / ROMANCE (C/L/E/R) at Space W10. For those not familiar with Eason’s graphite drawings, his meticulously detailed and characteristically sparse work isolates narrative fragments within a microscopic frame.
