FriendsWithYou’s We Are FriendsWithYou has been released by publisher Rizzoli, and to celebrate, the duo of Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III will be signing books and providing fans with an interactive experiential installation in MOCA’s Grand Ave courtyard. Sure to be a delight, participants will also be treated to a musical environment by Money Mark and have the opportunity to purchase limited edition products. We recently brought you a look at artists at work on the Urban Nation’s Project M/4 in Berlin, curated by Thinkspace. Participants including Andrew Schoultz, C215, Curiot, Fernando Chamarelli, Glenn Barr, Joao Ruas, Low Bros, Nosego, Word To Mother, Alexis Diaz (aka La Pandilla), Karl Addison, and Dabs Myla were asked to create large window murals as well as working on the facade of the building. Previews: Ana Bagayan – “Children of the Sun” @ Thinkspace Gallery

Tomorrow night in Los Angeles, the Thinkspace Gallery will be hosting the opening of Ana Bagayan’s (interviewed) newest solo show. Children of the Sun features paintings and drawings that are inspired by her fascination with our sun and the worlds around it with the title of the show referring to Ancient Armenia, before the introduction of Christianity. The last time we were able to experience Walton Ford’s work in person in New York was in 2011 when he blew us away with his surreal portraits of King Kong as well as his well known naturalistic paintings. Last week, Bay Area art fans saw the annual Art Market San Francisco come through town. The international art fair held at the Festival Pavilion – Fort Mason Center had galleries, artists, and collectors alike taking advantage of the one week of the year where art was in especially in focus in SF. Tonight in Chelsea, the locally-based Matthew Palladino (interviewed) will be opening a new show at Garth Greenan Gallery. We last enjoyed his work in New York back in 2011, and fans who attended that showing and plan to be present tonight will see that his work has evolved since to include three-dimensional elements to his repertoire.
